Job title: Optician

Location: Ellwood City and Zelienople, PA

Compensation: Based on experience

This role is full-time.

Are you an experienced Optician looking to join a practice where you will make a difference? Are you a motivated professional with a friendly demeanor who is experienced with sales, customer service, and using computer software?

If so – we would love to hear from you! We are a growing optometry practice in the Zelienople/Ellwood City area, looking for a driven Optician who can provide exceptional products and care to our patients. We offer a positive work environment with exciting learning/training opportunities, along with competitive pay and perks!

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating to run the day to day operations of the optical department
  • Selling, fitting, edging, and dispensing eye wear
  • Educating patients about features and benefits of various lenses and frames
  • Educating patients about their vision plan benefits
  • Creatively collaborating on sales promotions, initiatives, and outreach
  • Submitting eyewear orders and verifying accuracy
  • Maintaining and growing sales revenue
  • Maintaining and organizing the optical lab
  • Co-managing frame inventory and frame vendors
  • Submitting vision insurance claims and pulling insurance authorizations, as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • A thorough knowledge of various ophthalmic lenses
  • Proficient eyewear fitting and adjustment skills
  • Knowledge of major vision plan programs
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, to solve problems, and to use sound judgment
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow through
  • Ability to work ~1 evening per week; ~2 Saturdays per month

We are a growing optometry practice with two locations in Zelienople and Ellwood City, looking for driven customer service professionals who can provide exceptional care to our valued patients. We offer a positive work environment with exciting learning opportunities, along with competitive pay and perks!

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Use of computerized records system
  • Check-in and check-out of patients
  • Determining patients’ needs and scheduling appointments/providing solutions accordingly
  • Insurance verification and/or filing
  • Inventory management
  • Selling and dispensing contact lenses/glasses
  • Pre-testing patients

Required Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, to solve problems, and to use sound judgment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow through
